Mill Creek Park, located on the west side of Youngstown, Ohio, is the second largest metropolitan park in the United States. It was founded by Youngstown attorney Volney Rogers in 1891 and was officially opened in 1893. It contains approximately 2,600 acres, twenty miles of roads, fifteen miles of hiking trails, and three lakes as well as a variety of bridges, ponds, streams, gardens, waterfalls and two 18-hole golf courses.

Covered Bridges of Ashtabula County

Ashtabula County is the northeastern-most county in Ohio and is home to seventeen Historic Covered Bridges. Fifteen of them are included here...including a series of photos showing various stages in the construction of the newest-and longest-of the Ashtabula County covered bridges...the Smolen-Gulf bridge... which was completed in 2008.

Outer Banks: 2009

Maine Lighthouses: 2008

All lighthouse photos in this gallery were taken during our trip to Maine in September 2008.

On the trip, I was able to photograph twenty-one lighthouses, including twelve for the first time. That brings the total of lighthouses I have photographed to 164.

The photos of the "photographer-in-action" were taken by Monnie with the exception of #41 which was taken by Pete Sharp.
